~ ~ I was
given this book by the publisher via netgalley for an honest review ~ ~
I found
the first little bit of this book tended toward being a little boring but if
you push through it does pick up and become more interesting. Unfortunately I
would have to say that it is not the kind of book that managed to make me not
want to roam around in the dark. However, looking at it through the eyes of
someone who hasn't read too much horror and has high expectations I would have
to say that it was well written and the characters were well fleshed out. I
haven't read any of Nick Cutters other books and from what I've heard he is an
amazing horror writer and I could well believe it. I have not been put off and
want to delve into his other books to see just how good he is. This book does
have some very good and gory horror scenes and the story all up is interesting
and well thought out, to me and probably only me it just didn't seem to pop. I
say that this is one of those books that each individual needs to read and
judge for themselves as there are bound to be more readers that would find this
book awesome rather than so-so. So give it a go and don't let others influence
how you feel about things. To sum up in my honest opinion Little Heaven is
worth giving a read just remember to push through the first little bit to find
the warm and slippery innards.
